Xiamen Area of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone

 

Introduction

 

With a total area of 43.78 km2, Xiamen Area of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Area(FTZ) covers the Haicang Port Area of the Southeast International Shipping Center and the Core Area of the Cross-straits Trade Center. Based on the experience drawn from the pilot program and to meet the development of various industries and their relevant supporting industries, it further expands the pilot program and builds a cooperative mechanism linking the Cross-straits Newly Emerging and Modern Service Industries Cooperation Demonstration Zone, the Southeast International Shipping Center, the Cross-straits Trade Center and the Cross-straits Regional Financial Service Center.  

 

The Haicang Port Area of the Southeast International Shipping Center

 

Scope: It covers an area of 24.41 km2. It is bordered by the ocean in the south, Xiamen-Zhangzhou Bridge in the west, Jiaosong Road, Nanhai Road, Nanhai San Road and Xinggang Road in the north and the Xiamen West Sea in the east.

 

Function: It is designed to develop such modern port-vicinity industries as shipping logistics, imports and exports, bonded logistics, valued-added processing, service outsourcing and bulk commodities trade. It aims to build an efficient, low-carbon, green logistics network and a modern shipping service system with high-quality service and comprehensive facilities. It will strive to become an important international container hub port in the Asian region focusing on the west coast of the Taiwan Strait, serving the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, facing international trade and having the ability to allocate global shipping resources.  

                                                                                                                  The Core Area of the Cross-straits Trade Center

 

Scope: It covers an area of 19.37 km2. It is bordered by Shugang Road, Chenggong Road and Fangzhong Road in the south, and the ocean in the west, north and east.

 

Function: It focuses on the development of newly-emerging industries and high-end service industries, such as high-tech scientific research, information consumption, the airport industry, international trade services, financial services, professional services and the cruise economy. It aims to build an important hub that will facilitate economic and trade cooperation between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. It will strive to become a regional international trade center that focuses on the mainland of China and opens to the Asia-pacific regions.

Including the Haicang Free Trade Port Area (Zone A+B+C), totaling 9.51km2
